| The examination consists of Part-I: Computer Based Examination (300 Marks – Paper-I 150 Marks and Paper-II 150 Marks, each of 3 hours duration, Objective Type MCQs with 0.25 mark negative marking per wrong answer) and Part-II: Evaluation of Record of Service/APARs (100 Marks). Candidates are shortlisted for Part-II based on aggregate performance in Paper-I and Paper-II. Final selection is based on aggregate marks of Part-I and Part-II, prepared in order of merit, subject to reservation for SC/ST/PwBD candidates as applicable. | |
How to Apply: The Staff Selection Commission has announced the online application process for the Assistant Section Officer/Assistant Grade Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, 2025, through a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination process. Interested and eligible serving candidates can submit their applications online from June 25, 2026 to July 16, 2026 (2300 hours) through the official website. The process involves One Time Registration (OTR) followed by filling of the Online Application Form. Candidates must ensure the printed copy of the application, along with necessary documents, is forwarded by their respective Service/Cadre Controlling Authority to the Regional Director, SSC (Northern Region), New Delhi, so as to reach by 23.07.2026 (1800 hrs), or by 30.07.2026 (1800 hrs) for candidates residing abroad, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep. Applications submitted after the last date will not be accepted under any circumstances. Only one application should be submitted; multiple applications may lead to rejection of candidature.
